Law's KillFeed reads a DayZ server's logs and turns them into Discord feeds: kills with weapon, distance and hit zone, PvE deaths, connections, base building, bounties and kill streaks. On top of the feeds it runs an in-game economy, factions, a trader, safe and PvP zones, and server rules that warn, kick or ban automatically.

It has been running for over six years and is used on more than 500 servers across PC, Xbox and PlayStation, with a free plan and a paid plan.

What I built

  • The bot: Python with nextcord, about 140 slash commands and 15+ background tasks. It connects to servers through Nitrado, BattlEye RCon, FTP and SFTP, and stores data in MySQL with Redis for caching.
  • The website and dashboard: Laravel, where server owners log in with Discord, configure every feed and customise the embeds in a visual editor.
  • Live maps and player tracker: kills, deaths and player movement drawn on Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal and Nasdara, with a step-by-step replay of what a player did.
  • Player stats and server list: a public stats page for every player, and a server directory ranked by player votes.
  • Server tools: free editors for DayZ config files such as types.xml, events and spawn points, which can push changes straight to a Nitrado console server.

The bot runs in Docker on my own server.
